Wholehearted Beginnings: Prenatal Lactation Preparation

Prepare for breastfeeding with confidence before your baby arrives. Together, we’ll explore what to expect with your body and milk supply, how to achieve a comfortable latch, recognize your baby’s feeding cues, and understand what’s normal in those first tender days.

We’ll also cover colostrum harvesting — what it is, why it’s beneficial, and how to safely collect and store it before birth — plus flange sizing, so you’re ready for any “just in case” moments. You’ll leave feeling calm, informed, and supported, with a personalized plan that fits your birth and postpartum journey.

With Love, From Both of Us: Partner-Inclusive Prenatal Session

Most feeding education centers on mom — this guide intentionally includes partners. Led by Cailen, IBCLC, alongside her husband Matt, it brings both clinical expertise and a father’s real-life perspective to newborn feeding and the early postpartum weeks.

Together, you’ll learn how feeding works — from breastfeeding and pumping to bottles and paced feeding — what’s truly normal in the early days, and how partners can offer practical, hands-on support for feeding, bonding, and recovery. You’ll leave feeling aligned, informed, and confident as you step into this season as a connected team.

Sometimes a little extra support goes a long way. Choose from add-on options that fit your life and your day-to-day needs:

A GENTLE CHECK-IN

Text Support | +$30/week
Quick questions or gentle check-ins after your visit are always welcome Monday–Saturday during business hours. I do my very best to respond within 1–3 hours when I’m able, and always within 24 business hours — knowing that motherhood doesn’t always move on a schedule.

While texts aren’t monitored around the clock and aren’t meant for urgent concerns, I want you to feel supported. If something feels heavier or you’d benefit from more in-depth guidance, we can schedule a follow-up visit so you don’t have to navigate it alone.

LET’S TALK IT THROUGH

Phone Support | +$40/20 minutes
A calm, focused call for when you’d rather hear a voice, talk things through, and feel reassured in real time— whether it’s navigating normal newborn behavior, pumping questions, or simply needing reassurance.

Kind Words From Wholehearted Mamas

The words of the mothers I've had the honor of supporting mean more than anything I could say myself.

Gold heart with rays radiating outward on a black background.

“Cailen has been an absolute lifesaver for me through both of my breastfeeding journeys. She supported me prenatally and postnatally with both of my children, and I truly can’t imagine doing this without her. She is incredibly knowledgeable about everything. Latch, pumping, bottle feeding (with a baby that did not want anything to do with the bottle at first), clogged ducts, mastitis you name it, she knows it and explains it in a way that actually makes sense and feels manageable.

Beyond her expertise, she is kind, calm, supportive, and makes you feel confident even when you’re overwhelmed and exhausted. I trust her completely and will use her forever. I recommend Cailen to anyone and everyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or even just thinking about it. You will be so grateful you found her!!!!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Cailen. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and reassuring during a time that felt overwhelming and emotional. She took the time to truly listen, never rushed us, and offered clear, practical guidance that made a huge difference almost immediately.

What stood out most was Cailen's calm, compassionate approach. She normalized the challenges, celebrated the wins no matter how small, and made me feel confident and supported rather than stressed or judged. Her expertise combined with genuine care created such a safe and empowering experience.

Thanks to Cailen's support, breastfeeding became not only manageable but something I could actually enjoy. I am so grateful for her help and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for thoughtful, effective, and deeply supportive lactation care.”

“As a first time mom in my early 40’s, and having had a breast reduction 20+ years ago, I knew I would not be able to breastfeed exclusively. After delivery, I was sent home with instructions to nurse, bottle feed, and pump every single feeding. A couple weeks in, and no follow up support from my prenatal team, I reached out to Cailen. She completely transformed my breastfeeding journey. She refined my technique and maximized comfort for both my son and I. Her genuine compassion and concern for our wellbeing was exactly what I needed.

Cailen provided expert care, and was a continued source of support and encouragement. I highly recommend her!”
